VS 101: Pattern Shape Basics

About this course

In this course, you will learn about pattern shape functions and be introduced to methods for applying these functions. After completing this course, you will be able to create, manipulate and prepare patterns for use in 3D.

You will begin learning with pattern tools such as the pen tool and insert tool. Next discover the actions and properties available for pieces, lines, and points. Add knowledge of additional tools with group, lock, hide, seam allowance, measurements, and rulers.

Check your retention throughout the course with two knowledge quizzes.

After learning the basic tools, follow the workflows to edit an existing style, draft a T-shirt and a pair of pants. Test your knowledge by completing the garment creation activity and checking your work with the activity review video.
