About this course

In this course, you will learn about refining your garment for presentation quality renders, exporting your garment to other systems and animation.

Begin by learning recommendations for lighting and presentation style for renders. Next, follow along to improve 3D material and garment construction on an outfit to create a high-quality Ray Trace render. Review the export options for bringing your garment into external 3D software. Discover the animation workspace. Create an animation sequence for a Browzwear parametric avatar and export your animation.

Check your retention throughout the course with two knowledge quizzes.

Audience: Intermediate level users of VStitcher

Prerequisites: VStitcher 101, VStitcher 201

Rendering

Rendering & Lights Guide

In this PDF guide, you will learn general guidelines and best practices when adjusting light presets for ray trace rendering, achieving more accurate renders for final 3D garments, and representing a 3D garment sample.

Topics: understanding HDRI, exposure settings, rotation settings, default light preset reference, tips and rendering examples for photo shoot renders

How to Evaluate and Improve Quality of Ray Trace Rendering

In this lesson, we will gain an understanding on how we can prepare our files and adjust render settings to improve the Quality of our ray trace rendering output.

Topics: PBR map quality, seam position, stitch construction, Vray preview, corner seam alignment, trim image quality, organize 2D layout, delete unused materials, construction, styling, grid size, lighting

Garment Completion Checklist

PDF checklist to confirm your garment is ready to render or share.

3D Exports

Understanding 3D Outputs from Vstitcher

In this lesson, we will gain an understanding of the different 3D Outputs (like FBX or GLTF Files) which we can export from VStitcher.

Topics: Autodesk FBX, Browzwear PBR FBX, phong shaders, Browzwear 3D object BWO, BWO Viewer, GLTF v2, Khronos, Sketchfab, OBJ, V-Ray Scene vrscene

Editing 3D Export settings

In this lesson, we will gain an understanding on how to edit the 3D export settings for each type of 3D outputs we require.

Disclaimer: This lesson will require prior experience and understanding of external 3D softwares to fully understand the terms and settings required. If you do not need to export 3D outputs or already have an export preset to use, you can proceed to skip this lesson.

Topics: geometry, garment outside only, garment inside, garment thickness, scale, baked textures, texture file format, original textures tiled, enhanced layer blending, embed color properties, single UV layout for all pieces, single UV layout per piece, keep proportions, UV layout square, UV layout bounding box, UV layout pixels, UV layout DPI, colorways, FBX version and type, up axis, use material names, pattern piece names, convert BMP to PNG, zip export, JSON GLTF, binary GLB, alpha mode, opaque, mask, blend, PBR model, specular/glossiness, metallic roughness
